What Free Preschool Activities Are Available?

If you are teaching a preschool, you may want to look into free preschool activities that you can do with your class. Depending on the location of your preschool, the availability of transportation and the number of kids in the class, there are usually a wide variety of activities that teachers can find to make class much more interesting and fun for the kids!

Many local farms offer free tours of their facilities. If you are near a dairy or beef farm, you may be able to get a free field trip scheduled for a certain amount of preschoolers. Many farmers are happy to show children around their farms, and not only will this be fun and exciting for the kids, it will also be educational. They will be sure to remember this field trip for years to come!

Other exciting yet free preschool activities include taking a trip to the local library. If this is not part of the regular preschool day, then a trip to visit the world of books is a must. Find a local library with an excellent kids section. Many libraries offer weekly story times and activities that are designed just for kids. Best of all, this is one of the most educational trips you can take!

Seasonal free preschool activities are something preschool classes can look into, as well. Check into the local pumpkin patches around town. They may be happy to have your children come out and explore the pumpkin patch and crawl through the hay bales. Free visits to Santa in the winter can make any preschoolers day, as will Easter Bunny trips in the spring.

Of course, there are always free trips to the local parks and playgrounds. These are sure to bring a smile to every preschoolers face no matter how often you go! As a bigger treat, you can organize a day trip to a local park that may be bigger than your average playground. Have your children pack their lunches and make a day out of playgrounds, picnics and outdoor fun.

Check your local papers, Internet and local bulletin boards for instances of free activities that you can take your preschool kids to. Music and plays in the park, talent shows and art centers frequently offer free preschool activities for classrooms. You will be sure to find something to get your kids out of the classroom and into having fun!
